What's New
Piper, red tri, had a litter born Dec 20, 2020. She has 8 pups. The sire is Jasper, blue merle. As it goes in the aussie world, she had no blue merles. There are 4 red merle females, 3 black tris, 1 red tri. Each pup has a different look. I am posting their photos even though 6 are spoken for.
Puppy videos-just because they are fun to watch. If you have trouble getting videos to play, try using Chrome as your browser.

I thought it would be fun to put up some of the variations of blue merle coloring. The different shades that fall into "blue merle" are quite interesting. Some of the coloring was more common back in the 70's and 80's. Some colors crop up by surprise in our "modern aussies" like Rustler and Lilac. The cryptic merles aren't as common as they were. Some colors aren't as accepted in the show ring but are fun variations that make these dogs unique.
Tanzy and Smokey

Tanzy and Smokey
This is Tanzy with her special kitty, Smokey. They act like arch rivals much of the time, but they actually are best friends. Smokey teases Tanzy until she chases her. It can look dangerous to the cat but the game has gone on for months so it must be just a game they play. Smokey stayed at Heavenbound from "kittenhood" and was a kitten herself when Lily came. Smokey spent many minutes nursing from Lily while she laid on the front porch. Amazingly, Lily allowed it. Smokey tries rubbing on all the dogs but only a few of them put up with her. The others walk away.
Now Smokey has a new pal, Aspen. I had to photo Aspen and Smokey through the window so they wouldn't know I was watching them.
